Bilaal Dar - Founder
Bilaal is a fourth-year medical student with a passion for helping children achieve their academic potential. His experiences in both education and charity work have shaped his mission to provide personalised support that empowers students to thrive.
Speaking multiple languages, Bilaal excels at building strong connections with students and families from diverse backgrounds. His communication skills are further enhanced by his success in public speaking competitions, having won multiple gold medals at local and regional levels.
With a strong commitment to serving others, he actively participates in charitable initiatives, particularly those supporting underprivileged communities. This dedication drives his vision for SharpStart, where his aims to inspire and guide students to reach their full potential through tailored, expert support.
Yerin Kim - Head Tutor
Yerin is a second-year medical student at King’s College London and Head Tutor at SharpStart, where she ensures that all tutors deliver an exceptionally high standard of education. She has excelled in her own studies, achieving the best grade in the world for her Maths IGCSE as well as full marks for her IB, and is passionate about helping students at SharpStart do the same.
Yerin’s teaching approach is highly interactive, ensuring that students are actively involved in the learning process. She prioritises mastering fundamental concepts before progressing to more advanced material, allowing students to build a solid foundation for academic success. She also provides in-depth feedback and tailored corrections to help students refine their exam techniques and boost their performance.
Amina Anwar - Tutor
Amina is a first-year medical student at King’s College London with a strong passion for biology and chemistry. She aims to inspire her students to develop an interest in these subjects through engaging and supportive teaching. Amina particularly enjoys working with younger children, appreciating their enthusiasm and natural curiosity for learning. Aveline Jaison - Tutor
Avi is a second-year medical student at King’s College London with four years of tutoring experience. Having excelled in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) at A Level, Avi is passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals. She has experience tutoring students of all ages and takes pride in delivering engaging and personalised support to help them succeed.
Hannah Heus - Tutor
Hannah is a third-year medical student at King’s College London with six years of tutoring experience. She specialises in boosting students’ performance and engagement by tailoring lessons to their individual learning styles. Tavgah Jafar - Tutor
Tavgah is a fourth year medical student at King’s College London with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science. She has extensive experience tutoring 11+ and GCSE science subjects. Tavgah adopts a patient and personalised approach to teaching, focusing on building students' confidence, mastering key concepts, and developing effective exam techniques to ensure academic success.
